Why Positive Thinking Doesn’t Work

There’s a massive problem with positive thinking, and I’ll show you exactly what it is.

We’re told to think positive thoughts.

Like, I’m good, I can do this.

Use positive affirmations.

I think positive thinking has been taken too far, and we’ll uncover a truth lurking beneath the surface, shifting your understanding of positivity.

Imagine life as a canvas.

When you’re born, this canvas is pristine and blank with no flaws, waiting to be painted.

As you grow, life, with its experiences, expectations, and pressures of society, tells you what you’re supposed to do and how to fit in, and life starts adding a few strokes to your canvas.

Some people might tell you you’re not good enough or different; you’re too fat, not smart enough, or too quiet.

You might face rejections, look at social media, and compare yourself to the flawless images you see.

With each instance, dark splashes and erratic strokes appear on your canvas, ruining its purity.

Little by little, your pristine white canvas has become dark, smudged, cloudy, and tainted.

Your self-talk becomes negative, and you criticize yourself daily.

Negative thoughts are constant inside your mind, and you feel worthless and not good enough.

Life isn’t easy for any of us, and we all have scars.

Then, one day, you find out about positive thinking and give it a try, and you’re like, ” Hmm, this works; I feel good.”

Your canvas has a few bright colors on it.

A little dab here and there makes a difference, but the dark patches still peek through, and you’re still negative.

Some folks dab a little and give up, thinking, “Well, positive thinking isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.”

But here’s the thing: a true masterpiece isn’t made overnight or with just a few strokes.

It requires consistent effort, persistence, and an ever-evolving vision.

The same goes for positive thinking.

You’ve got to actively seek out the brighter colors in life – things to be grateful for, joyous moments, healthy relationships.

You’ve got to create an environment where positivity flourishes.

It’s not a once-in-a-while activity but a constant process.

Because, in the end, positive thinking isn’t just an occasional brushstroke.

It’s an ongoing commitment to creating your masterpiece, no matter how many dark splashes life throws your way.

With enough care and dedication, every canvas can be transformed into a work of art, a genuine masterpiece.

Stay Positive Friends.
